Lena and Jordan took refuge in the house, but they could hear that thing outside sniffing around trying to get in. Lena pushed a piano in front of the door and closed all of the windows. Her and Jordan called the police and hid under the stairs. Jordan felt very protective of Lena at this point. Lena felt strong so she refused to cry, after everything that has happened to her lately, tears were the last thing on her mind, if anything she wanted to fight back. Lena stood up “I’m sick of this shit” she yelled as she grabbed a gun from under the steps. She opened it, loaded it and cocked it. She was walking towards the stairs “LENA DON”T!” yelled Jordan. Jordan chased after her and fell to the ground sliding across her hard wood floors. Jordan was screaming and clenching his stomach and rolling around the floor. Lena turned to look at him but was interrupted by a knock on the door. She fearlessly pushed away the piano and whipped it open pointing the gun directly at the face that stared back at her. It was Ashley, the doctor from town and she was with Mitch, Clay and Lauren…. who was crying over her cousin Chevy’s body. Lena ran to Lauren and held her. “We have to go now! If we wanna save Jordan” yelled Ashley. Mitchell and Ashley grabbed Jordan and walked him to the car as Clayton went to Lauren “Lauren we have to go!” he pleaded, “you guys go! I’ll stay with her and wait for the police…GO! Save Jordan!” she yelled. Clay ran to the truck and jumped into the back with a convulsing Jordan. Ashley shifted into gear and sped off leaving Lena and Lauren in a cloud of dirt.
Warren heard crying in the forest, he left his group to attend to the sound. Kelly was gripping onto a tree and whimpering. He approached her, he already knew what was wrong. “Kelly” he said as she spun around and wiped away the tears “Yes, Sir” she replied. “Come with me” Warren waked further into the bush when he came across a clearing; he walked over to a thick portion of the bush and uncovered a vehicle. “Get in”. Kelly and Warren drove past the sign ‘Bon Temps’ she knew where he was taking her, to see Clayton, hopefully. They drove up upon the hotel Kelly stayed in when she lived in Bon Temps. “What are we doing here?” she asked as they both stepped out of the car. “I’m reminding you of what you left behind, I’m reminding you of the life we gave you.” The room Kelly stayed in was still evidence to her disappearance so it was surrounded by caution tape. They stepped over and entered. Kelly’s heart raced as the memories came screaming back. “This is where you lived……this is where you cut your wrists and left yourself dying in a pool of blood, this is where you snorted cocaine, and this is where you kept the little money you had” he said as he lifted up the mattress. “When I found you, you were nothing but a werewolves sex slave. We gave you hope, we gave you a fresh start, and that….THAT is what were fighting for, that’s why we have to stop taking advantage of both worlds and choose the one that keeps us safe.” Warren grabbed Kelly’s arm and flashed the scars. A tear fell from her cheek as she pulled it away. “I get it! Can we go now”. The two headed back to camp.
Lena clutched onto Lauren as they zipped up the body bag. “Im so sick of this supernatural bull shit! I’m putting an end to it” Lena stomped into her house. Those words stuck with Lauren, she remembered the time at the town barbeque when she flashed light from her hands. Maybe she was supernatural. Maybe she didn’t belong. Lena sat at her computer when Lauren walked in “what are you doing” she asked “something I should have done a long time ago, years ago I heard of this guy, he hunts the supernatural. I’ve never got in touch with him but honestly with all the fucked up shit going on in this town, I think it’s time”. Lena explained. “But you don’t know who he even is-“ Lauren was cut off “holy shit I found it…he has a website!” Lena grabbed the phone and typed a number. It rang, and rang, and rang. “HELLO! Hi my name is Lena and I need someone to come to my town and get rid of an…..infestation?”. “Where do you live?” the man said. “Bon Temps, Louisiana.” I’m expensive” “I can afford it” “I’d need a place to stay, I don’t do hotels” “you can stay with my friend Lauren! She needs protection” “well what is it I’m hunting here?” “All sorts of crazy shit”. “Well I’m the guy for the job, the names Chris…..Chris Piers & I should be there in 24 hours.”
“IT”S RIGHT UP THIS WAY!” yelled Ashley as she came across the house. “THERE IT IS! C’MON!” Clayton and Ashley took Jordan to the front door. Mitchell stood back and through his arms in the air “what are you talking about!? What house?” he yelled “Umm the one were standing in front of!” yelled Clay. “ARE YOU GUYS CRAZY” yelled Mitch. Ashley knocked on the door and it swung open “Just wait there!” she yelled as the three went inside. “HELLO! KINDRED!” yelled Ashley, Kindred came running from another room “Did you find another!?” “YES! We have to hurry, its growing!” Kindred wasted no time as she heisted him onto the surgical table. Ashley and Clayton stepped into the next room with ease. It was now a waiting game.
Hours passed, Kindred walked in the room with blood on her dress. “It was a success. He’s resting”. Clayton and Ashley smiled and hugged with ease. “Thank you so much Kindred!” “I see you brought someone else with you, outside” she pointed out the window; Mitch was standing waiting for them to come out. “Why did he not come in with you?” she asked. “He said he couldn’t see it, the house” explained Clay. “Ya that’s what I was afraid of….he couldn’t see it because he’s not human.” Ashley looked at Clayton who already knew of Mitchell’s psychic abilities. “58 years ago, me and my grandmother and grandfather were hiking, when we were jumped….by a wolf. My grandfather was able to throw it off, and he got a shot in. Killing the wolf instantly. The thing none of us were expecting was that it turned human as soon as it was shot, the boy died in front of me. My grandparents just told me to close my eyes and they took me home, that same night our house was surrounded by them, this house. They were barking so loud I can remember the howling like it was yesterday. My grandfather went out with the gun and they killed him, and then…they weren’t wolves anymore, they were men….bad men. My grandmother told me to run, so I did. I heard her screams as I was running. They shouted at me, they said they were going to find me, they swore they were going to kill me. I ran and ran until I came across a hut in the forest. It was home to a huntsman and his son, they took me in. I lived there until the wolves finally found me…they killed the huntsman and me and the boy ran off. We grew up in a small fisherman’s village where we fell in love and lived a long life. He became the lumberjack for the village. I grew scared every night of the wolves to return and 5 years ago that same wolf pack found the village. Killed everyone. Even my Jack…I was saved by a woman who claimed she was a witch. I never believed in witches but I also never believed in Werewolves either. When I explained to her what y life has come to she promised to keep me safe from the wolves. She asked me if there was one place in the world I could be where is it? I said here….in this house. So she cast a spell, protecting this house and making it invisible from all supernatural beings. So I could live my life without fear. That’s why your friend can’t see this house….he’s not human.
Warren and Kelly returned to the clearing and put the car back under the tree’s. As they were walking towards their camp, something seemed wrong, something seemed gloom. There were no birds chirping or anything. As Warren rushed to the camp he brushed back the tree branches and saw something so horrible, so tragic. Their entire Mer clam had been murdered. Ripped apart limb by limb and thrown around until there was nothing left. Everyone was dead. There was blood everywhere. The image would stay in Kelly's mind forever. This made her think to herself...maybe it's time to go home, but she took an oath. At this point she could only think about one thing….FUCK THE OATH! She began running. The images of the bloody parts were flashing in her head. Warren wasn’t following; he was busy mourning the loss of his Mer family. She ran and ran and ran until she came across a steep hill. She lost her footing and fell to the bottom hitting a tree on the way down knocking her unconscious.
She woke up hours later it was dark, she could hear noises. She lay in the dirt covered in leaves and mud. She never felt so alone, so scared. She was in pain from the fall. Something was approaching. She began to cry, whatever it was; there were more then one. She wondered if this was it for her. A man approached and knelt down “KELLY!” yelled Clayton. Kelly stared up at her brother “help……….” Her eyes closed.
