Clayton knew when he got involved with this war, that he
wouldn’t stand a chance up against a Siren, like Julia, alone. However he
couldn’t leave Kelly, so he would do whatever it took.
When Warren led Clay further into the damp forest, he
wondered what could possibly be out here that would help against the war.
Warren arrived at the riverside and knelt down aside the rocky shallow stream.
He pulled a small vile out from his jacket pocket, inside was a clear green
liquid. “If what you really want is to protect Kelly, then this will help you
get what you need” Warren held the vile over the stream and let one drop fall
into the water. “Well what are you waiting for? Follow it” Warren said as
Clayton began running down the stream chasing a green light down the fast
moving waters.
Warren watched with a smile but was distracted by excessive
howling coming from the direction of his friends. He shot his head in the
direction of the noise and began running in that direction.
He came across the clearing when he heard the girls
screaming and crying, but it was too late, Mitchell was gone.
The Next Day
Ashley sat in her hospital bed looking at her surroundings,
she wondered if it was time to come back to work. It would take time for her to
get over what happened to her over the past couple of months but at least if
she were buried in work she would be focusing on other things. “You have a
visitor hunny,” the nurse said. Lauren walked in “how are you feeling?” she asks,
“I’m doing better, thanks. How are you?” Ashley replied, “I’m fine, still a
little freaked out. Just knowing Chris is still out there, makes it hard to
sleep ya know?” Lauren asked “He’s getting what he deserves, rotting in that
prison” “did they ask about Mitch?” Lauren asks “Nope, but how the hell do we
explain what happened?” “We don’t, we will find a way to get him back, wherever
he is…if he’s still alive, we will find him” she said confidently “pretty
amazing though” Ashley says while staring blankly out the window “the power
that woman had, it was exhilarating” explained Ash.
Clayton watched as the green light floating down the river
came to a halt. He stepped into the water and began walking out deeper towards
the light. He could see through the ripples, there was definitely something
there. He stuck his hand through the light when he grasped something cold, the
light then dimmed as he pulled out two large daggers. The light reflected off
the metal and reflected on his face. Clayton felt an overwhelming familiarity
to the objects. It was like they took over his body. So much so that when he
was startled by the sound of a deer in the bushes, he practically became a
lethal weapon. Warren was right; Clayton was now ready for battle.
Clayton placed the daggers in his daggers in the barn when
he heard a truck backing up in the distance, he ran outside to see a moving
truck. Rachel came out from the house “my stuff is finally here!” Rachel ran to
greet the driver “Rachel what is this? Are you staying?” Rachel grabbed her
best friends shoulders “well there’s no telling how long this thing will last,
and besides I wouldn’t feel right about leaving Lena. So I figured I would just
bring my home here for now” Clayton smiled and went to help unload, as he
grabbed one of the boxes he said “Rachel, we are your home, never forget that”.
Lauren sat in her truck outside the police station for 25
minutes, wondering if she should report Mitchell’s disappearance. It would be
hard to understand but Officer Stackhouse was so understanding when it came to
Laurens case. She decided she would give it a shot, for Mitch. She pushed through the doors and accidently
smashed into Stackhouse when he was on his way out. His coffee spilt all over
the ground as well as a stack of folders. “I’M SO SORRY!” Lauren yelled as she
got on her knees and helped clean the scattered papers. She came across a
rather disturbing photograph that came out of one of the folders, a picture of
Tyson on the day he died. His body laying in his truck, and another photo of
two bite marks on his neck. “What is this?” she asked “those would be private
documents regarding Tyson’s death” he said as he collected the photos.
Lauren then thought to herself, she only knew one vampire,
could it be? Could Jordan be responsible for Tyson’s death? She continued to
wonder as she stormed out the office, second-guessing whether or not she should
report Mitchell’s sudden absence. She got in her car and backed out of her
parking spot when she hit the breaks after being inches away from hitting a car
behind her, it was Clayton. He took her parking space and Lauren drove away.
Clayton got out of the car and entered the station. He noticed Jason was still
picking up the mess Lauren left behind “well hey there handsome” he said as
Jason looked up and saw him, he instantly smiled “can we talk?”
Mitch opened his eyes and instantly began coughing. He was
confined in a small space, which seemed to be under ground. He could see a
small tunnel leading into a bigger space, where he could see light. “Hello?”
Mitch desperately waited for a reply and seconds later, someone did “follow the
tunnel” was all the person said “who are you?” he asked. The person did not
reply so Mitchell began digging and pulling himself through this claustrophobic
little tunnel. He reached the end and rolled into a pile of dirt. He could see
a figure leaning up against a wall staring at him. “Who are you? What is this
place?” The figure became closer, it was a woman with big green eyes and long
brunette hair “The names Megan, and we’re in her dungeon.”
Dayna drover her convertible to the front doors of Mitch’s
bar and Grill, to see if there was any sign of opening back up again any time
soon. Dayna needed a job, and since Mitchell had his little freak out it’s been
closed. She peered into the window to look for any sign of life when she heard
a noise from behind her. She turned around to see over a hundred lite torches
standing around her car and along side the restaurant. Julia came forward
“Hello, Dayna…..So, where is everybody?”.
