Critter Volume 2 Chapter 6

~Flashback to yesterday~

Warren held his hand against Rachel’s throat “WHY ARE YOU HERE! WHAT DO YOU WANT WITH LENA!?” he yelled. Rachel looked at Warren “there’s a reason why the war between Sirens and Mer people all of a sudden began again, this war has been quiet for more then 50 years until she came along” Rachel pointed to Warren’s window where Lena stood.

~Flashback~

Rachel stood there, the wind flowing through her long sandy brown hair as she thought. What if this doesn’t work? She had to try, something about her was not right, she wasn’t like other people. She then took the step, and fell 17 stories down an old industrial building. When she hit the bottom, blood spewed everywhere. Luckily nobody was around. She then stood up and there was brain squeezing out of a crack in her head, it immediately got patched back up inside her. With in seconds she was brand new.

“That was quite impressive” a man standing in a black suit stood across from her clapping. “WHO ARE YOU?” Rachel yelled, nobody had ever seen her heal before. “Your young, when did you leave them?” “who?” Rachel asked “your family” the man replied. Rachel was only 16 years old and she was only just beginning to figure out what she was “do you know what’s wrong with me?” Rachel asked “nothing is wrong with you, everything is right with you” the man reached in his bag and pulled out a big folder full of paper “here take this, everything you will need to help you through this will be in here”

~--------~

Warren could tell Rachel was telling the truth “when I opened the folder, there were pictures of people, men and woman who were like me, so I just picked one and packed my shit and left” Warren thought for a second “you mean Clayton?” he asked “well actually Clay wasn’t in it, but Kelly was” she replied. “Since then I became good friends with them, and when they left St. Thomas I needed to get them back” she continued to explain herself “WHAT DO YOU WANT WITH HER! WHY ARE YOU STALKING LENA?” insisted Warren “It’s not Lena I’m concerned about…it’s her baby”.

~Present time~

Mitch is standing in front of the invisible bar holding the gun, Lena, Warren and Lauren stood in awe by their vehicles. Mitch cocked back the rifle “LEAVE! I DON’T WANT ANY TROUBLE FROM YOU ANYMORE!” he was looking at Warren “LISTEN I’M SORRY ABOUT – “ Warren was cut off by Mitchell firing one round into the dirt “YOU RISKED EVERYTHING THAT MEANT ANYTHING TO ME! THIS BAR IS ALL I HAVE LEFT AND I WON’T GET INVOLVED IN SOME STUPID WAR ONLY TO LOSE MY LAGECY! I’M NOT ONE OF YOU! SO LEAVE!” Mitchell then stomped back inside his bar and locked the doors.

Lauren drove over to the hospital after getting a call from Clayton about the accident. Kelly and Rachel were already there. When she arrived she turned to enter Clayton’s room, she immediately leant down to give him a hug “do they know who hit you?” asked Lauren “yes, it was Kyle, the butcher” Lauren looked at the pile of dirty clothes he had changed out of after the crash, they were covered in red. “HOLY, IS THAT BLOOD?” she yelled frantically “no, funny thing actually, it’s paint. Apparently Kyle had a bunch in his truck and when we crashed he-“ Clayton noticed that Lauren looked like she saw a ghost “Lauren?” he asked as she ran out of the room. Lauren ran down the hallway looking into every room to see where Kyle was, she peered into the small window of a closed door and there he was, laying on the bed staring out the window, se kicked open the door and Kyle turned his head immediately “YOU!?” screamed Lauren as she threw Clayton’s paint covered shirt on his lap.

Mitch was walking around his empty bar and he collapsed into a leather booth, he reached in his pocket and grabbed the picture of his parents from his pocket. He glared at them when he had an overwhelming feeling to turn around; he was then staring at a photo that hung on the wall since they opened. A picture of Mitchell on opening day with Lauren, Lena and the whole gang starred back at him. He then realized he might have made a mistake. He then began to tear up, he remembered how he just kicked Jordan out of the car like that. A scary thought then entered Mitchells head, if Jordan ran away because of his heartbreak towards Lena, then now that he’s a vampire, Lena is probably in danger. He stood up and grabbed his gun and turned to leave when he noticed his tears that fell from his cheek didn’t quite hit the ground, they were hovering over the table. He then turned around to see all the furniture that wasn’t nailed down floating above the ground. He was confused but wasted no time, he needed to see if Lena was okay.

Jordan was running so much through his head, but the only thing that mattered and the only thing powering him through it all was the thought of getting back to Lena. Next thing you know, he’s standing on her doorstep. He takes the key that was hidden under the ceramic owl on the porch and enters the house. He crept through the house seeking his love. He saw a baby crib set up in the living room and a tear of blood fell to the ground. It only motivated him more. The sound of the front door handle turning broke the silence. Lena and Warren then came through “Hunny we have to hurry, visiting hours for the hospital are only for another hour and I want to see Clay!” Lena said as she kicked off her shoes.

Jordan wondered if they would ever notice he was in the room. Until Lena looked up and saw him standing in front of her. Warren lunged at Jordan after seeing the blood on his face. Of course no one knew he was now a vampire, he was much stronger then a Merman. He threw Warren against the wall smashing picture frames. Lena let out a scream and Jordan rushed to her neck and placed his hand around her “now we can be together” he said as Mitchell barged in the front door and smashed him over the head with the bottom end of the rifle. He became unconscious.

“I made a mistake” Mitchell explained, “I never should have done what I did, I was just filled with so much emotion and I wanted to be safe.” Mitchell told Warren and Lena about the deal with Traci. “Mitchell, you never should have gone to that witch! They always ask for something in return right? Well this time she took your powers, but you took Jordan from her! Now the deal is broken, she will be coming after you now to collect what’s hers.” Said Warren. Jordan then became conscious, he was tied to a chair by silver “LET ME GO!” yelled Jordan “NOT UNTIL YOU HEAR US OUT!” Lena screamed back “I love you Jordan, I always will, but I’m with Warren now. You disappeared and we fell In love and if you care about me at all then you will accept that!” Lena then began to cry “so you go and do this to yourself for what? For me?” she asked, “I was sick of being powerless, I saw you and Warren together and I felt weak” he replied. Lena then got on her knees and whispered, “you were never powerless, you made me feel loved, you really did however relationships die and ours just didn’t work. It had nothing to do with Warren” Jordan’s tears of blood didn’t startle Lena in the slightest “and we will always be friends no matter what you are” she placed her hand on his and began taking off the silver. Jordan stood up “I’m sorry” he said. Warren reached out his hand to shake Jordan’s and Jordan shook back “I need your help” said Warren “Join our army”.

Lauren is standing over Kyle’s bed “WHY!? WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME!?” Lauren yelled “YOU KILLED NATASHA! SHE WAS MY FRIEND! SHE WAS THE ONLY OTHER SHIFT-“ Kyle immediately shut up. Lauren then caught on “ARE YOU A SHIFTER TOO?” she asked “yes”. Officer Stackhouse was standing outside the door, hearing every word.

Critter Volume 2 Chapter 5

Sirens. They never sounded right to Clayton, every time he heard them it just brought him back to when his parents died. All he heard were sirens. The seat belt was digging into his collarbone and his arm was covered in glass. He looked to the side. Everything looked weird, the fact that he was upside down didn’t occur to him just yet. The shock was too much.  His cheeks still wet from his tears, his clothes now wet from his blood. His cell phone was ringing, but it lay outside on the pavement. The rain eventually killed the ring, now just sirens.

“ARE YOU OKAY? SIR! CAN YOU HEAR ME! YOU WERE IN AN ACCIDENT! YOU’RE GOING TO BE OKAY!” a man was knelt down at the drivers side door that was crushed. He yelled into Clayton’s ear but he was not responsive. His eyes wide open and pupils dilated, but silent. He came to consciousness when a drop of blood carried itself to his eye. He threw his arm to clear it away but was mesmerized by the amount of cuts on it. “WERE GOING TO GET YOU OUT OF HERE!”

Clayton then awakens in an ambulance. The neck brace made it difficult to turn, but there was someone else in the car with him. Kyle was unconscious with serious looking injuries on his legs. Clayton stared at the ceiling and passed out. He awoke what seemed like seconds later but was actually closer to 15 minutes. He was being rushed through the ER, people were shouting. Nothing really came through as actual words. Kyle’s chest was being pumped a couple of feet from him. There’s no heartbeat. The flat line that carried across the screen then rippled. He was back.

Clayton heard the automatic door slide open again “JANE DOE, LOOKS TO BE ABOUT 27 YEARS OF AGE, SAVERE TISSUE DAMAGE, SEVERAL BROKEN RIBS. SOMEONE FOUND HER LYING ON THE SIDE OF ROUTE 33” a paramedic was yelling “HOLY SHIT THAT’S ASHLEY! SHE WORKS HERE!” Clayton turns his head to the right to see his friend being rolled past on a stretcher “wait…WAIT THAT’S MY FRIEND!! ASHLEY!”

Warren steps out of bed, he can smell fresh hazelnut coffee roasting in the kitchen. Lena must be up. He begins walking over to the kitchen when he see’s Lena standing in the living room with a crib set up. She is hanging a toy story themed curtain around the crib when she notices him watching her “HEY!” she says “ok I know this may look weird to you but hear me out, this is where out baby could sleep” Lena’s big smile turned into a concerned look when warren stared back at her with a look of death “what?” she said. Lena turns around to see outside her window that same truck watching her, Rachel’s truck. Warren runs out the front door and catches up to her before she drove away. He reached in and pulled the keys out of the ignition “I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE!” he took the key and sent it piercing through Rachel’s leg. She let out a loud scream. He took the key out and underneath the blood jean fabric, her skin healed immediately. Rachel grabbed Warren’s hand “I’m not here to hurt anyone! I’m here to protect her, from them!” she said “WHAT ARE YOU! WHAT DO THEY CALL YOU?”  Rachel released her tight grip on his wrist “we don’t have a name, but what we do, you already know. We can’t die. “

Mitchell hid behind the rose bush long enough, Jordan was dragged in behind the witch’s wall and he was going to find out why. He hopped through the wall and hid behind the tree line to stay hidden from the group of men. Jordan was encased in silver and thrown into a deep hole in the ground. Traci then emerged from her chambers to discuss something with the men.

They wondered off talking and Mitchell wasted no time. He ran to the hole and peered down where Jordan was curled up in a ball at the bottom. The chains has fallen off from the fall and Jordan began to become conscious “JORDAN!” yelled Mitch in a quiet whisper. He opened his eyes and turned his head towards his old friend Mitchell.

Jordan didn’t want to tell him just yet of what he had become. He wanted Mitchells help getting out, he couldn’t risk it. Mitchell threw down a rope he found coiled up in one of the men’s bags. It looked like it had recently been cut in places. Mitchell threw down the rope and Jordan grabbed it. He was stronger then usual and was out of the hole in seconds. “THANK YOU!” said Jordan “come on! I have a truck a few miles up parked in the woods! LET’S GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!” the two of them headed for the truck, all the while Jordan was thinking to himself how much he has changed. He killed Tyson, and other men and woman; he changed who he was to become more powerful. Then he remembered why he did it in the first place, to get Lena back.

Mitchell was driving along the highway and Jordan was sitting in the passenger seat not saying a word “okay so are you going to tell me what happened to you or am I going to have to choke it out of you?” Mitchell asks. Jordan looked at himself in the rearview mirror as the moon glared at him through the glass. He turned to Mitchell and shot out his fangs. Mitchell stared at them for a second and then slammed on the breaks “GET OUT!” he yelled. Jordan was confused; he thought Mitchell was like him, special. Jordan began crying tears of blood as Mitchell reached over opened the door and kicked him out. Jordan lay on the side of the road as he watched Mitchell take off into the night.

Lauren grabbed her purse and keys from the counter and hopped in her car. She cranked the key and drove 5 minutes down the road to her job. She parked her car where she usually parks it, and turns to walk in the front door, but to her surprise, the bar is gone. Lauren began shaking as she was stricken with so many questions “Hello!?” she yelled, she heard another car coming down the road. As it parked, Warren and Lena emerged. Warren slowly exited staring at the empty lot where the bar used to be. Lena stared at the bar and saw Mitchell sitting in the front window, he was crying. Lauren and Warren could not see anything. Mitchell wiped away his tears and stared into Lena’s eyes as he grabbed a shotgun and headed for the front door.

A man approached Clayton's bed as they wiped off red residue from his legs. "IS THAT BLOOD!?" Clayton yelled with concern. "No actually it's paint, red paint. The man that hit you had buckets of it in the back of his truck, they exploded everywhere on impact."

Critter Volume 1 Chapter 4

When Lauren put on make up, it reminded her of her mom. When she was little her mother would lay out all of her make up on her bed and they would sit in front of the mirror and try stuff on. By age 10 Lauren was a pro. Of coarse none of this mattered because even the things she counted on to make her feel better, like putting on make up, faded after Chris moved in. The site of him began making her ill. Their relationship had become more of a tragedy then anything else, not to mention her nightmares began to get worse and worse.

Chris shot out from the doorframe and placed himself in Lauren’s mirror. “Hey hun! I have some news” he said as Lauren spun around on her chair.  “What is it?” “I have to leave for a couple of weeks, my website got another call. It’s about 6 hours North of here” Chris explained “Oh well when do you leave?” Lauren asked “see this is the thing, I need to leave now in order to get there before nightfall” Lauren was prepared for more questioning but was over powered by a feeling she had never felt before. As Chris stood up and began walking to his room, Lauren took a look at her palm. A small light was shining through.

“So I’m just throwing a few things in the car and I’ll be right back” he heads out the front door and Lauren immediately lite up the entire room sending her bed flying up against the window. Her dresser was thrown upside down and her bookshelf shattered into kindling. It was a feeling of relief. She neglected her abilities so much that they were fighting back. Lauren looked out the window and Chris was just shutting the trunk to the car and heading back inside.

The light dimmed and Lauren was able to hold her hands together to get it to stop. When she heard Chris’ footsteps coming up the staircase she ran to the door and shut it behind her. “Have a good trip honey!” and with one kiss on the cheek Chris was gone.

Today was a big step; first of all he was leaving his sister alone for the first time since she came home. Secondly, Clayton had never gone on a date with a man. When the car pulled up, Clayton hopped off the wicker chair sitting on the front porch under a light that had so many dead flies sitting in it, that it embarrassed Clayton when he saw it. He flicked the light off and ran to the car, but not before Officer Stackhouse came out and got the door for him. Clayton then realized, a chance like this doesn’t come along very often. Not with a guy like this.

After a dinner that Officer Stackhouse carefully made for the date, they got lost in conversation when Clayton reached over the table to fill his glass using the pitcher of wine, which was sweating from the heat. “So Officer-“ Clayton was interrupted “for the last time can you please call me Jason?” he insisted “right sorry! Habit I guess” Jason then looked into Clayton’s eyes “come here I want to show you something”. The two walked to his dim lite backyard where they held glasses of wine and held hands walking down the patio. There was a swinging bench that sat in the corner of the deck. Blankets were placed, as if it was planned. The two sat down. Jason looked at Clayton with the kind of look where you know something is going to happen, he went in for a kiss. The two shared a passionate lip lock for several seconds, when Clayton let go “I’m sorry, I can’t…just not right now” Clayton stood up “I’m so sorry” Clayton grabbed his coat and chugged back the wine as he got in his car and took off.

Tears fell to the leather seats as Clayton was speeding down his road. His phone rang which was thrown in the back seat after falling out of his jacket pocket. Clayton turned his head for a second to see his phone has 3 missed calls. He turned back to see a truck coming his way, the t-boned Clayton causing his car to roll 3 times into the ditch. The last thing Clayton remembered before he passed out was Kyle’s face, driving the truck that hit him.

Lena sat under her covers as she read her book while Warren finished shaving. He walked in to the room and hopped into bed. “What are you reading?” he asks, “Mitch actually lent me this book, Not Dead Yet, it’s really goo-“ Lena froze as she saw movement coming from outside her window. She ran to the drapes and pulled them back. She then stomped to the front door and flicked on the porch light. There sat Rachel, the woman she met the night before while working. She was watching her from her car from the road. A few feet where Chevy was killed. Rachel put her car in drive and took off. “Babe what is it!?” yelled Warren. Lena thought weather or not she should say anything “Nothing, sorry I thought I saw something”.

Mitch knelt to the ground with ease. He knew what he had to do to protect his family legacy. He would do what it took. Traci stood above Mitchell with her eyes closed. Her staff was then stomped right in between his eyes. The mouth of the skull at the tip of the staff slowly opened “This is your last chance to back out” Traci asked “DO IT” the skull then made a deep breathing sound as it sucked a clear flow of energy from Mitchell’s mouth. The skull then closed shut. Mitchell felt no different, but then he realized it was a lot more silent then he was used too. It was as if when he was a telepath his mind was always racing. He had an odd feeling of true humanity, and he liked it. “Now my part of the deal” Tracy took a deep breath and blew out a sparkly purple energy much like the one that came from Mitch. “Congratulations Mitch, your bar is safe. I hope it was worth it”.

Ashley couldn’t trust Jordan. She knew he was a friend, but this didn’t seem like him. She stared into his eyes and he stared into hers. She then heard a popping sound, which sent a sheet of silver thrown around Jordan’s face causing him to collapse to the floor. Ashley stood up and ran past screaming Jordan. “SHE’S GETTING AWAY!” a man yelled “Let her go” said Shaun as he looked down at Jordan “Silver him up! We got what we came here for, let’s go!”. Jordan was then locked in silver chains and strung along in the direction of the Witch.

Mitch was leaving through the Witch’s wall when he heard the sound of chains clanging and footsteps coming from down the path. He his behind a dead rose bush as he watched a group of men walk through the wall, and behind them was Jordan. Mitchells old friend, he knew he couldn’t leave him.

Critter Volume 2 Chapter 3

“This is the place” Shaun yelled as the Ware clan stopped to sniff their surroundings. Ashley looked up from the ground where she fell to her knees. She saw plenty of trees unlike the ones in Bon Temps circling a clear path. She assumed this path would lead her to the Vampires they spoke of.  At this point, she was ready to die.

“Hurry up! GO!” Shaun unchained Ashley and sent her running in the direction he wanted. “How do you know this will work Shaun?” a member of the pack asks “It has to work…otherwise I die, that witch will kill me and leave ya’ll without a pack master” Shaun spit on the ground and grabbed the guns “LISTEN UP!” the group perked their ears “we only need one vamp, if there is more than one…kill em’” Shaun turns facing the wind and breaths deep “I can smell em’…FAN OUT!”.

Ashley’s feet were bloody and bruised but nothing would stop her. The first clear path into the bush she would take and get as far away from here as possible. She came to a halt and looked around. She could see what looked like huge rock formations. She hadn’t eaten or drank in days and it was beginning to get to her.  Footsteps broke the silence, more then one person. She ran in opposite direction but was grabbed by a man, who was completely naked. His skin cold as ice and his hands rough like ground.

“My my my, what is a beautiful young woman like you doing wondering in these parts?” the man asks. Ashley looks into his evil dark red eyes and said nothing. “Oh I’m sorry, allow me to introduce myself…I’m Dave” he said as his fangs shot out. Another man emerged from the fog and approached Dave and Ashley. Ashley was breathing heavily and her heart was racing. This excited Dave. “Look we have dinner” Dave threw her to the ground. Her dirt and blood soaked hair covered her face. The man knelt down to Ashley “Look at me” he whispered. Ashley recognized the voice. She began raising her head when a shot was fired. Dave was sent exploding into a bloody inferno. Ashley looked up to see an old friend “JORDAN?”.

Lauren awoke from another terrible dream; she then remembered what Natasha told her about the dreams. Thinking of that just reminded her of Natasha’s parents and the fact that they murdered someone. Her mind stopped racing when she heard someone bump into a kitchen chair downstairs. Lauren shot out of bed, swung open her top underwear drawer and ran downstairs with a gun as if it was rehearsed.

A man had took off out the front door after dropping a bucket of red paint. “I’LL SHOOT!” she yelled as she pointed the gun at the man’s back. She couldn’t do it, but she could chase him. The man ran past the tree line and into the bush.  Lauren chased after him and was able to pick up quite a momentum. She was faster then him and she knew the bush better then him. She then watched as he got into a truck parked by the opposite end of the bush and fired it up. He took off just in time. Lauren recognized the truck, but for some reason could not remember why.

Clayton was walking back with Kelly from the lake. He takes her there everyday so she can swim. “So I was on the other line” Kelly said “the other day, when you were talking to Officer Stackhouse” Clayton had a ‘hands in the cookie jar’ expression. “If you like him Clay, you should go out with him!”. Kelly was one of the few people that actually knew about his sexuality. Where he came from, his parents wouldn’t have understood. They died before he even had the chance to tell them anyway. “I’ll think about it” he said with a smile as they approached the front porch.

Kelly ran upstairs to take a shower. Rachel was in the kitchen cooking “HEY!” she yelled “I thought I would cook you guys a nice breakfast to show how much I appreciate having a place to stay” she said. Clayton was so hypnotized by the smell of bacon that he barely realized that her hand was gripping the burner and creating a sizzling noise. “OH MY GOD RACH YOUR HAND!” Clay yelled “Oh silly me!” she yelled as she placed it under running water. “Are you alright?” he asked “YA! FINE! Breakfast in 5 okay?” she said. Clayton then left the room. Rachel pulled her finger out of the water and the burn was gone. She placed a bandage over it anyway to not raise questions.

Warren had told Lena about the Sirens, so every day since at work she had one eye always watching the guests incase anything odd came up. She was strutting by the kitchen when she saw the chef preparing lobster. It was Jordan’s favorite meal. She wondered what had become of him. It had been a few days since she last saw him and Warren had since moved back in with her.

A woman walked in the bar that Lena had never seen before “Hello, just one today?” Lena asked, “yes please” replied the woman. The two walked to a booth and Lena handed her a menu “are you new in town?” “Yes actually, I’m visiting a good friend. My name’s Rachel!” she said as she shot out her hand “Nice to meet you I’m Lena, I’ll be your server” she said as she shook Rachel’s hand. Lena felt a strong grip coming from Rachel’s hand as she just stared at Lena. It was as if shaking her hand caused some sort of reaction. “Umm can I get you something to drink?” Lena asked as she continued to stare. “You need to be careful Lena” said Rachel. “Huh?” “You need to be safe, you are more important then you think you are! You could help us win Lena!” Rachel said as the grip on her hand grew tighter. Lena yanked her hand away as she yelled “OH HELL NO!” she turned to walk away “I swear bitches be getting’ crazier every GOD DAMN DAY!”. “I’LL HAVE A COKE!” Rachel yells.

Mitchell’s mind is going crazy which usually means he’s close to his vision. All nature was dead where he was. Trees didn’t grow, grass didn’t grow and nature refused to take part in the area. He continued to walk slowly as he walked threw some sort of invisible wall. When he turned around he could see the wall, it was a light purple color. He pushed his hand through and watched as the wall rippled.

The cracking of a branch sent him turning in the opposite direction, a woman in a dark black cloak stood in his path “You’re her aren’t you? You’re the Witch!”. Silence was all he got in return as the woman stood there and watched him. She took one step forward and her cloak faded into smoke. The Witch was beautiful. Her hair was all the colors of the rainbow and her clothes were made of gold and silver. She held a staff, which on the top was a skull. This skull was mesmerizing. “You’re a telepath, I’m guessing that’s how you found me” the woman said “Yes! I need a favor of you!” “Please call me Traci, that was my human name” she replied as she turned to walk away. Mitch followed as they walked down a path made of coble stone “What is it you seek?” she asks. “I know about Kindred, I know about the spell you put on her house to keep away all magic and supernatural beings….I need you to do the same! To my bar!” he explained “and why would I do that?” “it’s not just a bar to me, it’s the only place I have left that reminds me of my family, and it’s in danger”

Traci then approached a pond where she placed her staff into the water. Images of Mitchell’s past then began flashing throughout the reflection. Traci’s eyes glowed white, the white was getting brighter and brighter when she yanked her staff out of the pond. She turned to Mitchell and said “ what you seek is protection and if what you seek is truly what will protect you then you must know all magic comes at a price so if protection is truly what you want then what I want is this..” Traci then points her staff at Mitchell’s chest “I will have your abilities, your powers will be no more….do we have a deal?”.

Ashley: Fight 2 Survive

Critter Volume 2 Chapter 2

~Flashback~

Mitch sat upon the foot of his bed, a tear fell from his face and hit his scuffed up jean pant leg. What his father had just told him would change him forever. He wondered how someone could just leave his son. The sound of closets opening, cloth hangers being pulled and bags being zipped filled the tiny house. It was supposed to be a normal day. Him and his dad were supposed to hop in the truck and leave for work, like every other day.

His mother passed when he was very young, and now all it took was a phone call to send his father packing. “Mitch, LOOK AT ME!” his father placed his fingers under Mitchell’s jaw and brought him to eye level. “If only you could understand” he said seeing his 18 year old son cry “I don’t have time, their coming for me and they can’t know about you! Your special son, remember that. It’s all yours now you understand? The bar, this house, all of it.” Mitchell cried “I DON’T UNDERSTAND” his father knelt on one knee “someday you will, but for now you need to be strong, be a man. Make a life for yourself and someday if I see you again you will understand why I left” his father grabbed the two bags he had packed for himself and walked out the door “WHY DO YOU HAVE TO LEAVE, DAD!” “I love you, son” his father left and Mitchell watched as his father drove away, never to see him again.

His father was telepathic like him; so reading his mind was impossible. Not to mention Mitch didn’t fully understand or even know how to use his abilities that made him so  “special”. He walked through the house seeing nothing, where family photo’s used to hang. His father wanted no evidence of him ever having a son. Mitch remembered one place where he kept a photo of his parents.

He arrived at the restaurant, puts the key in the door and walks in. Nothing felt right without his father. He ran past the tables and bar into the back where he always ate his lunch with his dad. He cried more when he sat in the office chair that always sank in causing his father to constantly nag about getting a new one. He glanced at the photo of the restaurant his father had from opening weekend on the desk, Mitchell took out the photo and looked in behind, there lay the last photo of his Mother and Father he had left. As he clenched, he swore to himself that he would make his Dad proud, so that if he ever did come back, here their restaurant would be. Safe and sound.
~----~

Mitchell pulled out the picture, worn and torn for one last glance as he came across the house, that clearly was now visible. Kindred’s house. He walked in not knowing what to expect, apparently the witch’s curse was lifted. He then wondered if Kindred was even alive. He ran inside to see her dead body. He turned his head and covered his nose, the stench made him ill. He wondered what became of Ashley. The site just angered him more and in flamed the hatred for supernatural beings. He looked down to see a paw print on the floor, he placed his hand on the print and he was overwhelmed with images. A wolf pack travelling somewhere, he then saw what he needed to see. The whereabouts of the witches hut.

The chains on Ashley’s wrists were causing swelling on her skin. The man pulled her forward step by step. Behind her were 7 more men, all werewolves. What has her life came to? Why must there be so much hatred and evil in the world? Ashley tripped over her foot and fell onto the ground, skidding her elbows. A man approached, “GET UP” He yanked her to her feet and began pulling her. They were walking for hours. It was getting dark. “What do you want with me? If you let me go, I promise I won’t say anything!” she begged. “We need you” “FOR WHAT?” she snapped back. “bait”.

They Killed Kindred, Ashley knew that they wouldn’t care about killing her. She sat, chained up by a fire the men had made for her to sleep through the night. “We should be there by tomorrow afternoon” a man yelled out. A younger man then sat on the log next to Ashley. He said nothing as he carved his knife. The boy looked up at her, bleeding from many places, scared and cold. He sympathized. “You owe me an explanation” Ashley said “He made a deal” the boy began explaining “The man that took you, Shaun, he made a deal with the Witch that released the curse. He must bring her a Vampire by tomorrow night or…” “OR WHAT?” Ashley yells “Or he dies, and you” he took a breath “you’re the bait”.

I was all his, the house, the farm, the crops and the livestock. After Tyson’s death the only person on his will, was Clayton. The fact that Clay was Tyson’s only loved one, was sad to him. Clayton and Kelly had begun moving into the farm that once housed Tyson and his wife. They moved in their belongings and settled in. They were so happy to finally have a permanent place to live, and the picture of Tyson and his wife would forever hang above the piano.

Kelly was in bed, and Clayton sat awake on the Kitchen table trying to arrange a funeral. It seemed like there has been too many lately. First Chevy, now Tyson. He picked up the phone and dialed the police station. “Hello, Sheriff Stackhouse? Yes it’s Clayton again calling about the Tyson investigation?” he waited for a response “We will make sure to call you if anything further comes up, in the mean time you call me if you need anything okay?” Clayton’s shoulders sank with the bad news “Okay, ya thanks, bye” he was about to hang up when Stackhouse spoke up “Hey Clay? If you ever wanted to do something sometime to maybe get you’re mind off of everything you just let me know okay?” Clayton wondered if Sheriff Stackhouse was asking him out. He had no time to think about it because somebody was knocking on his door. “Uhh – Hold on someone’s at the door, I’ll call ya back” he ran to the door and swing it open “CLAY!” the woman yelled as she swung her arms around his neck “OH MY GOD I’VE MISSED YOU!” Clayton released from the hug to get a second look “oh my god Rachel?”

Lauren was washing the dishes as Chris lay on the couch watching the game. She thought to herself What a lazy little fuck. As she placed a plate on the drying rack, the power went out. The darkness then filled the house “Chris?” she said “Ya hun” he walked over and held her shoulder. He grabbed a flashlight from under the sink. Then, a noise came from upstairs. The two ran up the stairs hand in hand “HELLO!?” yelled Chris as they approached the bedroom where the noise originated. He pointed the flashlight at the window seal where an Eagle was perched. “HOLY SHIT!” the bid flew off into the night. The flashlight was then quickly pointed to the wall where, in red paint it wrote ‘BLOOD FOR BLOOD’.
